Privacy policy
Streamr never sees what you watch: streams go straight from your TV provider to your Mac. We keep only what’s needed to run your account — your email address, your devices and the playlists you choose to sync — and we don’t sell or share it for advertising.

Who we are
Streamr is made by PicSpotr LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Streamr app for Mac, the website at https://www.getstreamr.app and the Streamr account service. Questions: [email protected].
What we never collect
- What you watch. Video streams play directly from your provider to your Mac and never pass through our servers.
- Your viewing history, which stays on your Mac.
- Your Mac’s hardware (MAC) address. Streamr only sends a one-way, salted SHA-256 hash of it.
- Your card details. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe.
What we collect and why
During the trial (no account)
To give each Mac one 7-day trial, the app sends a device identifier (the one-way hash above), the platform, the device name and model, and the app version. We store when the trial started.
When you sign in
- Email address, to sign you in with a one-time code or link and to send account and billing emails.
- Devices you sign in on: the device identifier hash, name, model, app version and when it was last seen, so you can manage your device seats.
- Session tokens, stored hashed. The website uses one essential cookie (
streamr_session) to keep you signed in for up to 30 days.
When you sync playlists, favorites and lists
If you’re signed in, Streamr syncs your playlists so they appear on your other devices: the name, type, server address, username, password, M3U and guide URLs and user agent. Playlist passwords are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and only ever returned to you. Playlists added from a file sync by name only. Your favorite movies and series and your channel lists are stored as the item ids from your playlist.
When you subscribe
Stripe processes your payment and tells us the status of your subscription and when it renews. We never see or store your full card number.
On this website
The marketing pages set no cookies and load no advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Like most websites, our servers keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
On your Mac
Streamr stores playlist passwords in the macOS Keychain and caches your library on disk so it opens quickly. It writes a diagnostics log to ~/Library/Caches/com.firelightprojects.streamr/streamr.log with credentials redacted. The log stays on your Mac unless you choose to send it to us. Streamr checks our website for updates; that request includes the app version.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run Streamr — hosting, email delivery and payments (Stripe) — and they process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. Removing a device or a playlist deletes it from your account. If you’d like your account and its data deleted, email us and we’ll do it; we may keep billing records where the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can use the trial without an account, and use Streamr without syncing by not signing in. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Email [email protected] and we’ll help.
Children
Streamr isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you by email for significant changes.
