What is Streamr?

Streamr is an IPTV player for Mac. You add the playlist your TV provider gave you, and Streamr turns it into a fast, native app with Live TV, a TV guide, Sports, Movies and Series — organized, cleaned up and synced across your Macs.

Does Streamr include channels?

No. Streamr doesn’t sell or include channels, movies, series or playlists. It plays the Xtream Codes login or M3U playlist you already have from your TV provider, and your streams go straight from your provider to your Mac.

What do I need to use Streamr?

A Mac running macOS 15 Sequoia or later and a playlist from your provider: an Xtream Codes login, an M3U link or an M3U file. Setup takes about a minute — see adding Xtream Codes or adding an M3U playlist.

Onboarding

Bring your playlist. That’s it.

Paste whatever your provider sent you. Streamr works out the rest, shows live connection progress, and has your library cached so every later launch opens instantly.

  • Xtream Codes, M3U link, or drag & drop an M3U file
  • Paste a full get.php link anywhere — we fill in the login
  • Account status, expiry and connections at a glance
  • Pick your countries up front; logins live in the Keychain

Live TV

Three panes. Zero waiting.

Browse like you’re flipping channels: the preview starts playing while you scroll, with tonight’s schedule and catch-up right next to it.

  • Categories, channels and a live preview side by side
  • Now-playing progress on every channel
  • Preview expands to full screen without rebuffering
  • Clean names, with 4K, HEVC and Dolby kept as badges

TV Guide

A guide you’ll actually use.

See what’s on across every channel, jump straight into what’s airing, or rewind to something you missed earlier tonight.

  • Full EPG grid with pinned channels
  • Live “now” marker that keeps up with you
  • Catch-up on past programmes for archive channels
  • Custom XMLTV, time shift and refresh interval

Sports

Every game, in one place.

Streamr spots sports channels and dated event feeds in your playlist and turns them into a schedule — so you stop scrolling and start watching.

  • Live & Upcoming schedule built from your event channels
  • Sports channels and replays on demand
  • Filter by sport in one tap
  • Empty “no event” placeholder channels hidden for you

Movies & Series

Your library, with the posters it deserves.

Movies and series get the full streaming-app treatment, straight from your provider’s catalog.

  • Detail pages with backdrop, plot, cast, runtime and trailer
  • Seasons and episodes with autoplay next
  • Resume where you left off, on any title
  • Category chips, sort options and search

My Lists

Your channels, your way.

Build a “Local Channels” list, a “Sports” list, a “Kids” list. They show up on For You and in Live TV, right where you need them.

  • As many named channel lists as you like, with custom icons
  • Drag a channel onto a list — or onto New list
  • Reorder lists by dragging
  • Favorite movies and series in the same place

Content filters

Hide what you’ll never watch.

Big playlists are noisy. Streamr detects countries and regions in channel names and filters rows, the guide and search to just the ones you care about.

  • Turn whole countries off — their categories go with them
  • Fine-tune individual categories
  • One switch for every pay-per-view channel
  • Adult content hidden, with an optional parental PIN

Player

Starts fast. Stays smooth.

Built on the engine behind the Mac’s best video players, tuned for live IPTV: fast stream probing, automatic reconnects, and restarts you won’t notice.

  • mpv + FFmpeg with VideoToolbox hardware decoding
  • Buffer profiles: Low Latency, Balanced, Maximum Stability, Custom
  • Auto-reconnect and seamless stream restarts
  • HDR on XDR displays, deinterlacing, debanding

Subtitles & audio

Every track, in sync.

Switch languages, fix out-of-sync subtitles and zap channels from the keyboard — without leaving the picture.

  • Pick audio and subtitle tracks from the player
  • Subtitle and audio sync when a stream drifts
  • Drag & drop external subtitle files
  • Picture-in-Picture with the optional Apple engine

Settings

Deep when you want it.

Sensible defaults out of the box. Every knob you could want when you go looking.

  • Twelve sections, right in the main window (⌘,)
  • Live preview of subtitle styling
  • Appearance: Grape accent plus alternates, poster size, motion
  • Raw mpv options for the tinkerers

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does the trial work?

Every Mac gets a 7-day trial that starts the first time you open Streamr — no account, no email, no card. Each device gets its own trial, so you can try it on the Mac you actually watch on. Reinstalling the app doesn’t restart it.

What do I get for $29 a year?

Everything. There’s one plan: Live TV, the TV guide with catch-up, Sports, Movies and Series, My Lists, content filters and parental controls, the mpv player, playlist sync, every update while you’re subscribed, and up to 10 devices on one account.

How do the 10 devices work?

Each device you sign in on takes one of your 10 seats. Sold a Mac or ran out of seats? Remove a device from your account page and the seat opens up again immediately.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in two clicks from your account page. Streamr keeps working until the end of the year you’ve paid for, and you can resume before then if you change your mind.

Do my playlists sync between devices?

Yes. Sign in and your Xtream Codes logins and M3U links follow you to every device, and you can manage them on this website. Passwords are encrypted at rest. Playlists added from a file stay on the Mac they came from; only their names sync.

What do you see of what I watch?

Nothing. Streams play directly from your provider to your Mac and never pass through our servers. Your account holds your email, your devices and the playlists you sync. Devices are identified by a one-way hash; your Mac’s hardware address never leaves it.

Does Streamr come with channels?

No. Streamr is a player for the playlist you already have from your TV provider, in Xtream Codes or M3U format. It doesn’t sell or include channels, movies, series or playlists.

What do I need to run Streamr?

A Mac running macOS 15 Sequoia or later — Apple silicon or Intel — and a playlist from your TV provider.
